Andy Sachs ~ Child Biking in the Swamp ~ Acrylic ~ 12×16 ~ $800 ~ I enjoy painting children having fun because it reminds me of my childhood. The Great Swamp is a great place for children of all ages. Andy Sachs ~ Grampa and Grandson Kayaking The Great Swamp ~ Acrylic ~ 20×16 ~ $1,500 ~ One of my favorite places to enjoy nature is the Great Swamp in Patterson. I noticed these two figures and they caught my attention. “Anne Gurnett-Bander ~ November Trees ~ Watercolor ~ $100 ~ I drove past the part of the swamp you can see from Route 311 in Patterson and turned back to take a photo on the bridge. The starkness of those swamp trees struck a chord and I took many photos. I made several attempts some ‘pretty’ and then a more abstract approach. I have tried to be more abstract in my work and this scene gave me the opportunity to explore that interpretation. I hope they represent to some of you the beauty I saw in the austere scene” “Anne Gurnett-Bander ~ November Trees in Abstraction ~ Watercolor ~ 11 x 14 ~ $100 ~ I drove past the part of the swamp you can see from Route 311 in Patterson and turned back to take a photo on the bridge. The starkness of those swamp trees struck a chord and I took many photos. I made several attempts some ‘pretty’ and then a more abstract approach. I have tried to be more abstract in my work and this scene gave me the opportunity to explore that interpretation. I hope they represent to some of you the beauty I saw in the austere scene” Barbara Ann Mahon ~ Quarry Rocks at the Great Swamp ~ Watercolor ~ 5×7 ~ $125 ~ From a photo taken a few years back at Patterson Environmental Park Barbara Ann Mahon ~ The Great Swamp at Route 311 ~ Watercolor ~ 5×7 ~ $125 ~ From a photo I took last spring at the side of the road along Rte 311 Barbara Chitkara ~ October Morning on Ray Lake ~ Oil ~ 8×16 ~ $600 ~ It was an early October morning. Despite the fact that there was a cool wind whipping across Ray Lake, the water appeared relatively still. I was struck by the beauty of the trees, wildflowers and the reflections of the water. Carol-Lee Kantor ~ Swamp Frog ~ Acrylic ~ 12×14 ~250 ~ “Swamp Frog” was inspired by our grandchildren’s fascination and curiosity about the wildlife we find in our natural surroundings. Cindy Katz ~ A Sultry, Summer Day ~ Painting ~ 9×12 ~ $225 ~ Diverting Reservoir during 2022 heat wave: no breeze, still water with shadows, car overpass. My first time at this location and it was splendid! Cindy Katz ~ The River Runs Low ~ Painting ~ 9×12 ~ $250 ~ 2022 drought caused the low water level of the East Branch of Croton River, exposing areas of the river bed and rocks. Diane Baresich ~ Diverting Reservoir ~ Oil on Panel ~ 8×10 ~ $185 ~ Began painting this plein air; quickly learned that chasing the light doesn’t work! Brought it back to my home/studio and continued from the photo taken around 9:30am when shadows pointed to the lovely bridge. I’ve driven past this place many times, never realizing the gem of a view. Diane Baresich ~ Ray Lake ~ Oil on Panel ~ 8×10 ~ $185 ~ In late Spring, I had the pleasure of roaming this private estate while a local plein air group painted away. I remember it was quite breezy. The clouds and water were moving, everything was moving this beautiful day. Painted from a photo taken around 9:15am. Doreen O’Connor ~ Stream in the Woods ~ Acrylic on Panel ~ 10×12 ~ $300 ~ When a friend suggested painting at Brewster Diverting Reservoir, I almost declined but am glad I went. A good day of painting with several artist friends. Doreen O’Connor ~ Summer in the Great Swamp ~ Acrylic on Panel ~ 11.75×13.5 ~ $400 ~ From bridge on rte 311 Doreen O’Connor ~ Sunlit Lane ~ Acrylic on Panel ~ 12×14 ~ $350 ~ On a hot Sunday morning, I was driving around within the Swamp Watershed (Quaker Hill), when I spotted this lovely shaded lane. I left out the iron gates as it made it too personal. Doreen O’Connor ~ Wildflowers at Ray Lake ~ Acrylic on Panel ~ 11×14 ~ $350 ~ I have painted Ray Lake several times so this time I concentrated on the wildflowers, some of which I moved into my composition. Eileen Gunning ~ Cattail Marsh ~ Oil ~ 36×24 ~ $600 Eileen Gunning ~ Grackles in May ~ Acrylic ~ 20×16 ~ $400 Eileen Gunning ~ Heron ~ Oil ~ 21×17 ~ $150 Eileen Gunning ~ View from Mistover ~ Oil ~ 26×20 ~ $150 Erin Cordle ~ Great Hollow Glow ~ Oil ~ 8×12 ~ $450 ~ Started plein air at Great Hollow and finished in the studio. I was drawn by the beautiful light filtering through the trees and the saturated reflections in the creek. Erin Cordle ~ Ray Lake ~ Oil ~ 6×10 ~ $350 ~ Painted plein air at Ray Lake with Sharon’s group and finished in the studio. I was inspired by the crisp blues in the sky and water and lush greens of summer. Georgine Honohan ~ A Fellow Artist at Deer Pond ~ Watercolor and Ink ~ 8×10 ~ $150 ~ A quick sketch, done on site, on a glorious spring day. Georgine Honohan ~ A Perfect Tree at Deer Pond ~ Watercolor ~ 11×14 ~ $300 ~ To paraphrase: Paintings are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree. “Georgine Honohan ~ Ray Lake – Artists at Work ~ Watercolor ~ 19×15 ~ $375 ~ What a beautiful place to paint! There were many artists there that day, and this big wonderful tree was providing cool shade. Gretchen Hoffmann Abene ~ Autumn ~ Watercolor ~ 17×22 ~ $550 ~ A Hillside at Great Hollow Nature Preserve that shows beautiful Autumnal color with just a bit of the Sun peering through the canopy. Gretchen Hoffmann Abene ~ Brewster, by the Bridge ~ Watercolor ~ 14×18 ~ $325 ~ This little stream is located near the Diverting Reservoir in Brewster, NY. I commuted to New York City for many years and found these little streams a daily diversion from the train windows. Gretchen Hoffmann Abene ~ Southern Shore, Ray Lake ~ Watercolor ~ 8×8 ~ $225 ~ Ray Lake is one of my favorite spots to paint. The changing seasons, the variety of weather conditions afford all kinds of beautiful possibilities to record this hidden treasure that is so generously shared. Gretchen Hoffmann Abene ~ Winter Travel ~ Watercolor ~ 15×11 ~ $325 ~ Route 37, near Great Hollow Nature Preserve is my access to Sherman or Danbury. The bare wooded hillsides heavy with snow and ice, take on a rosy light in the deepest of winter days. Painting in the car is the route to go! Gysela Pacheco ~ Blue Heron ~ Oil on panel ~ 24×18 ~ $480 ~ The majestic Blue Heron. Silent and solitary, interrupted by a family of swans gliding by. Diverting Reservoir in Brewster. Gysela Pacheco ~ Peonies and Pots ~ Oil on canvas ~ 11×14 ~ $350 ~ Focusing on the soft, bold, romantic white blooms against the rocky outcropping and allowing the rest to blur away was a challenge, but a lot of fun. Gysela Pacheco ~ View of Pawling ~ Oil on canvas ~ 8×10 ~ $225 ~ This is a view from Rounded Crest Farm (previously Mistover Farm) of the town of Pawling on a rainy summer morning. Pawling resides within the Great Swamp of New York’s watershed in the Hudson Valley. A small town with many historic homes surrounded by farms, hills, trees and streams. Jeanne Plekon ~ Back Road (Rounded Crest Farm) ~ Oil ~ 8×10 ~ $250 ~ Quiet, except for occasional whinnying from horses somewhere behind the trees, as the morning fog burned off the north side of the hill. Jeanne Plekon ~ Summer Glen ~ Oil ~ 10×12 ~ $390 ~ Looking over the edge of a bridge, down into a natural glen, shaded by trees with a lazy stream on a hot summer day – respite! The foliage that caught the sun’s strength despite the high humidity, glowed on the far end. Painted at Diverting Reservoir, Brewster Joann Zwolski ~ A Great Swamp Moment ~ Watercolor ~ 11×14 ~ $250 ~ My motivation comes from the Great Swamp at the Patterson Enviromental Park. It is a spot full of wonder and inspiration. Joann Zwolski ~ Magical Place ~ Watercolor ~ 14×11 ~ $250 ~ My motivation comes from the Great Swamp at the Patterson Enviromental Park. It is a spot full of wonder and inspiration. Karen Maloof ~ Great Hollow Preserve Morning Glow ~ Oil ~ 8×10 ~ $275 ~ The dry stream beds of the waterfalls in September enhanced the sight of this one area of the stream. The light impressed me with a yellow orange glow of the water that never faded as I painted. Karen Maloof ~ Out of the Shadows Brewster Diverting Reservoir ~ Oil ~ 8×10 ~ $275 ~ It was striking. The color of the trees seeping through the deep blue shadows in the early morning September light. The oranges and the greens while plein air painting were bursting. It is what I saw and how it made me feel. Karen Villarreal ~ Beautiful Infiltrator ~ Oil Pastel ~ 8×8 ~ $250 ~ Ray Lake. An infiltrator from another land. This little guy was lunching on a Rose of Sharon, but still beautiful if one can look past the destruction. Also an excuse to use some iridescent paints! Karen Villarreal ~ Goldenrod Meadow ~ Watercolor and Pastel ~ 8×12 ~ $250 ~ Brewster, the Diverting Reservoir. Bordering the water are trees, reeds and this small meadow of wildflowers — a seemingly insignificant patch of land next to an intersection. Easy to just drive past it, but if one stops and looks closely a beautiful symphony of colors and life is revealed. Karen Villarreal ~ Nature Reclaiming ~ Pastel ~ 10×20 ~ $350 ~ Ray Lake … pristine and beautiful even as nature works to reclaim a fallen log, returning it to its original state. Cycle complete. Karen Villarreal ~ Yggdrasil ~ Watercolor ~ 18×14 ~ $375 ~ At the entrance to Rounded Crest Farms in Pawling there is a tree so magnificent that the owners have given it a name — Yggdrasil, the spirit tree of all trees in Norse mythology. Its massive roots entwine a large boulder, commanding the scene. Laura Gould ~ Brewster Bridge ~ Oil on paper ~ 7.5×3.75 ~ $225 ~ This painting was done in the late afternoon at the Diverting Reservoir in Brewster NY. This simple traffic bridge attracted me with its lovely arching line and the soft afternoon light on a cloudy day. Laura Gould ~ Loosestrife along the Appalachian Trail ~ Oil on paper ~ 10×5 ~ $300 ~ Such a beautiful view walking the Appalachian Trail boardwalk crossing the Swamp River. The Loosestrife was in full bloom…the color and day were perfect to set up my easel and enjoy painting one of my favorite walks. “Leslie Carone ~ October Boardwalk ~ Pastel ~ 11×14 ~ $300 ~ The swamp grasses have mellowed to ochre, rust, and cream, and they toss like waves in the late October wind. As I stroll the boardwalk I am assaulted by the earthy smells and symphonic birdsong of the Great Swamp. Location: Pawling, off route 22 where the Appalachian Trail crosses the Great Swamp. “Leslie Carone ~ Ray Lake ~ Oil ~ 8×12 ~ $125 ~ Late summer heat, lack of rain, but the wildflowers have still managed to strut their stuff along the shoreline. Location: Ray Lake, Pawling. Lizzie Grosso ~ Sundown from Quaker Hill Road ~ Watercolor on Paper ~ 9.5×11.5 ~ $430 ~ A favorite way to end the day in our family is a walk “around the block” circling Elmwood. I often find myself stopping by this gnarled tree on Quaker Hill Road, watching the light change in the distance, and thinking how lucky we are to be here, now. Lynn Burkett ~ Fall Reflections ~ Oil ~ 16×20 ~ $450 ~ In this reservoir, for as long as the 28 years we’ve lived here, there are only two swans that visit it. There is actually an area in the small bit of land in the water where the female swan nests. We’ve watched as she sits on her nest, only to have the eggs possibly eaten by a raccoon. Then finally- after several years- we see a third swan- a tiny grey swan- in the picture. We watched it grow and eventually leave. I decided to not include the swans in the painting so the focus is on the brilliant fall colors. Lynn Burkett ~ Watershed Stream ~ Oil ~ 16×20 ~ $450 ~ This painting captures the quiet of the watershed that we often walk through to check on how the frogs are doing since their existence reflects the health of the ecosystem. Lynn Slonaker ~ Beautiful Diversion ~ Oil ~ 12×12 ~ $275 ~ The diverting reservoir in Brewster. A beautiful spot to paint or walk. Lynn Slonaker ~ Fishing Buddies ~ Oil ~ 11×14 ~ $275 ~ East Branch Reservoir in Southeast. Inspired by the arrangement of the boats — especially the color of the one in front. Lynn Slonaker ~ Spring Delusions ~ Oil ~ 14×14 ~ $375 ~ The old road off Quaker Hill Road in Pawling. A beautiful old road with 75 foot pines in the early spring fog. Lynn Slonaker ~ View to Cloverbrook Farm ~ Oil ~ 12×12 ~ $200 ~ Just off Glen Arden Road in Pawling. Inspired by the serene setting and beautiful reflections in the pond. Margaret Ryan ~ Deer Pond Farm ~ Oil ~ 8×8 ~ Intrigued by the light Margaret Ryan ~ Ray Lake ~ Oil ~ 8×8 ~ Intrigued by the light Maria Kaprielian ~ Birch at Rounded Crest Farm ~ Watercolor ~ 17×21 ~ $175 ~ This birch tree stands like a sentinel at the top of the drive, looking down at all the wondrous activity at the new horse farm. Maria Kaprielian ~ Green Chimneys Boardwalk (Autumn) ~ Watercolor ~ 17×21 ~ $175 ~ My second attempt at painting the boardwalk looks like a fall scene to me, so that’s the story I’m sticking with. Maria Kaprielian ~ Green Chimneys Boardwalk (Summer) ~ Watercolor ~ 19×25 ~ $225 ~ I walked this boardwalk on a beautiful day the summer before the Covid pandemic started. This year I finally found the time and courage to paint it. Maria Kaprielian ~ Painted Turtles ~ Watercolor ~ 25×19 ~ $225 ~ I spy three bumps on a log, but they are not lazy or inattentive ones. If I get too close to them they will all dive into the water! Mary Ann Taormina ~ Breeze Through the Trees ~ Watercolor ~ 9×12 ~ $90 ~ The air was crisp with a soft wind blowing, when I attended my first plain air event. This is my interpretation of the beautiful preserve. After a short walk, I found a freshwater stream in the green woods. It was lovely! Mary Ann Taormina ~ Lake in the Swamp ~ Watercolor ~ 9×12 ~ $90 ~ Manmade Putnam Lake is a well balanced ecosystem of the Croton River Reservoir System created by damming the Morlock Brook in 1931. Mary Ann Taormina ~ The Ice Pond ~ Watercolor ~ 9×12 ~ $90 ~ Atop a hill, looking down, one sees the pristine waters of the Ice Pond. The pond is where ice was harvested in the 19th and 20th centuries. The large blocks where cut then loaded onto Harlem Railroad cars and shipped to New York City. Mary Ann Taormina ~ Walk in the Woods ~ Watercolor ~ 9×12 ~ $90 ~ There is a wonderful path on the east side of Brewster High School that not many know exist. It feels like you are going into the deep woods, with bridges over babbling brooks and wild tree canopies covering the paths. Nancy Woogen ~ Dame’s Rocket by Barn at Ray Lake ~ Oil ~ 11×14 ~ $345 Nancy Woogen ~ Reflections at Ray Lake ~ Oil ~ 9×12 ~ $325 ~ En Plein air Paul Kmiotek ~ Beaver ~ Pen&Ink ~ 11×17 ~ $300 ~ The Great Swamp supports an amazing variety of wildlife. Occasionally spotting some of it during a family walk along one of the Swamp’s paths is always an unexpected and fortunate source of inspiration. Paul Kmiotek ~ Otter ~ Pen&Ink ~ 11×17 ~ $300 ~ The Great Swamp supports an amazing variety of wildlife. Occasionally spotting some of it during a family walk along one of the Swamp’s paths is always an unexpected and fortunate source of inspiration. Paul Kmiotek ~ Snapping Turtle ~ Pen&Ink ~ 11×17 ~ $300 ~ The Great Swamp supports an amazing variety of wildlife. Occasionally spotting some of it during a family walk along one of the Swamp’s paths is always an unexpected and fortunate source of inspiration. Sharon Nakazato ~ A Bridge in Brewster ~ Mixed Media ~ 12×15 ~ $295 ~ Again fascinated by the light of mid-summer, I decided instead of shading to play with the colors as forms and in motion. Sharon Nakazato ~ Ray Lake Summer Shimmer ~ Watercolor ~ 12.5×15.5 ~ $295 ~ The light was not blinding but did put a cast on the trees along the bank that almost looked like frost. Sharon Nakazato ~ River Lights ~ Watercolor ~ 10×10 ~ $215 ~ In the morning and towards dusk, walking along the River, I am taken by the way the light streams through patches in the dense foliage and brings a warmth to the shadows. Sharon Nakazato ~ Variations on a Theme in Brewster ~ Mixed Media ~ 19×16 ~ $295 ~ Many landscape painters have little affection for summer greens, but I am fascinated by the way a hillside with a solid bank of foliage can arrange itself into a tapestry of colors as I continue to look at it. Susan Hennelly ~ 10 Mile River ~ Watercolor ~ 16×20 ~ $200 ~ Plein Air at Webutuck Village. Kayakers were paddling on the swift flowing river last summer; quite a change from this year’s low. Susan Hennelly ~ Beaver Dam ~ Watercolor ~ 16×20 ~ $200 ~ Painted from a photo I took this month at Old Pawling Road. Susan Hennelly ~ Goldenrod ~ Watercolor ~ 16×20 ~ $200 ~ At my pond in Dover (part of the watershed of the Swamp River)

Alice Lynn ~ Autumn Journey ~ Photograph ~ 16×24 ~ $150 ~ Below the Village of Brewster, NY where the East Branch of the Croton River meets the Diverting Reservoir, this beautiful pair of swans has nested for years on their small island. Devoted to each other, they are never apart. Autumn 2020, they venture together into the lake to forage. Alice Lynn ~ Autumn Reflections ~ Photograph ~ 16×24 ~ $150 ~ Below the Village of Brewster, NY where the East Branch of the Croton River meets the Diverting Reservoir, this beautiful pair of swans has nested for years on their small island. Devoted to each other, they are never apart. Autumn 2020, gliding effortlessly down the lake amidst autumn colors. Alice Lynn ~ Spring Nesting ~ Photograph ~ 16×24 ~ $150 ~ Below the Village of Brewster, NY where the East Branch of the Croton River meets the Diverting Reservoir, this beautiful pair of swans has nested for years on their small island. Devoted to each other, they are never apart. Spring 2021, the pen on their nest, her cob is close by. Alice Lynn ~ Three Cygnets ~ Photograph ~ 16×24 ~ $150 ~ Below the Village of Brewster, NY where the East Branch of the Croton River meets the Diverting Reservoir, this beautiful pair of swans has nested for years on their small island. Devoted to each other, they are never apart. Late spring 2022, proud swan parents guard their cygnets. Andy Sachs ~ Red Branches And Ice ~ Photograph ~ 10.5×13.5 ~ $100 ~ The winter brings out new elements in the beauty of the Great Swamp. I enjoy showing the abstract along with the realistic aspects working together. Andy Sachs ~ Swamp Ripple ~ Photograph ~ 10.5×13.5 ~ $100 ~ The Swamp is not geometric by nature but by tossing a pebble into it, can introduce geometry and distortion and create an alternate beauty. Anthony Monteleone ~ Canoeing Great Swamp in Fall ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $150 ~ The Great Swamp Watershed is one of New York’s best kept secrets. Bella Dalton-Fenkl ~ Differential Grasshoppers ~ Photograph ~ 10×8 ~ $175 ~ This photo was taken in front of the Route 55 wetlands, near the Nuclear Lake trailhead. I believe these grasshoppers had just finished mating when I found them. I really like the similarity between the colors and shapes of the insects and of the plants in the background, and the bold patterns on the grasshoppers’ bodies versus the plain metal guardrail. Bella Dalton-Fenkl ~ Ichneumon ~ Photograph ~ 10×8 ~ $175 ~ This (very tiny, only about the length of a fingernail) wasp, which was a struggle to photograph, has patterns that remind me of candy. The orange of the blurry flowers in the background match the orange of the legs! This photo was taken along the Swamp River boardwalk. Bella Dalton-Fenkl ~ Mushroom Monolith ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $175 ~ I originally took this photo in the Route 55 wetlands on the Appalachian trail (near Nuclear Lake) because I wanted to identify these mushrooms by their gills (these are oyster mushrooms), but then I realized I had something special when I saw how grand the mushrooms looked against the sunset sky with the gilt-looking leaves that are out-of-focus in the background. I think the mushroom curving up toward the right really makes this composition. Bella Dalton-Fenkl ~ The Wood Frog ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $175 ~ Found in the Route 55 wetlands near Nuclear Lake. I love a lot about this photo—it demonstrates how diverse a single patch of ground can be, with both fresh and dry leaves, as well as soft moss. The photo also captures the wood frog’s camouflage and how much it resembles lichen. Finally, the wood frog’s eye brings everything together. I can feel its being. Brian Alberghini ~ Autumn Heron ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $175 ~ The goal of my photography is to show the diversity of birds that thrive in the Great Swamp and it’s environs. The grandeur of the Great Blue Heron as it hunts in the East Branch of the Croton River in Southeast, NY is my inspiration for patience and perseverance. Brian Alberghini ~ Old Fluffy ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ 175 ~ The goal of my photography is to show the diversity of birds that thrive in the Great Swamp and it’s environs. The grandeur of the Great Blue Heron as it hunts in the East Branch of the Croton River in Southeast, NY is my inspiration for patience and perseverance. Brian Alberghini ~ Pileated Woodpecker ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $175 ~ The goal of my photography is to show the diversity of birds that thrive in the Great Swamp and its environs. A male Pileated Woodpecker as it investigates a new nest or new food source or simply drums for a mate. They can be found along watercourses, here along a small stream that empties into the East Branch in Southeast, NY. Brian Alberghini ~ Red Tail Hawk ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $175 ~ The goal of my photography is to show the diversity of birds that thrive in the Great Swamp and its environs. The Red Tail Hawk as it sits perched high waiting for its next meal. Often found at the edge of a field this red tail would come and visit our yard at the southern terminus of the Great Swamp in Southeast, NY. Carlos Passi ~ Cat Tails ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $125 ~ Photo taken at Deer Pond Carlos Passi ~ Lady Bird Trail ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $125 ~ Photo taken at Deer Pond Carlos Passi ~ Out of Service 2 ~ Photograph ~ 8×12 ~ $125 ~ Photo taken at Deer Pond Carlos Passi ~ Out of Service ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $125 ~ Photo taken at Deer Pond Claudia J Griswold ~ Harmony ~ photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $125 ~ Whilst taking a leisurely stroll around Lake Carmel, I noticed many pollinators going about their work on a Butterfly Bush. I sat a spell and watched, being super lucky to capture these two in one frame. Why can’t humans take a lesson from nature and work together ? Claudia J Griswold ~ Majestic Landing ~ photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $125 ~ On a bright sunny day with blue skies, I watched this Bald Eagle criss cross across Putnam Lake searching for his mid-day meal. He dove a few times but missed his catch and finally settled facing me in a tree nearby, a magnificent sight to behold. Claudia J Griswold ~ Positive Light ~ photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $125 ~ I lounged on a beach at Putnam Lake just listening to the birds chirping and calling and taking in the beauty. I noticed this Male Northern Cardinal hopping from branch to branch in a bush near the water while calling his mate. I was not alone at all. Claudia J Griswold ~ Rocky River ~ photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $175 ~ After a short hike at Great Hollow Preserve, I came across the waterfall flowing briskly. I stopped and just listened for a spell and found a quiet spot just over the bridge to shoot up river. I love how the sunlight thru the trees seems to lead to the water. Cynthia O’Connor ~ October Fire ~ Photograph ~ 22×17 ~ $600 ~ Standing on the shore of Lake Mauweehoo as the sun goes down on that rare, hot, October day. Before you, all that you can see is the vibrant explosion of yellow across the water and reflected in the lake before you! When you look at this picture I hope you feel warm inside. Don Turner ~ Canada Goose Gosling ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $80 ~ While strolling along the Appalachian Trail boardwalk in Pawling, I noticed a Canada Goose family foraging in the marsh alongside Swamp River. The sight of this one gosling with just its head visible among the large-leafed wetland plants was an image worth capturing. Don Turner ~ Wood Ferns ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $80 ~ On a visit to Dover’s “Old Stone Church”, I was struck by the beauty and persistence of ferns and other plants that eke out a living growing on rocks. These wood ferns “spilling” out of a crevice in a huge rock outcropping is a testament to the tenacity of life. Jane Haslam ~ Autumn Glory ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $136 ~ Reflections at Nuclear Lake Jane Haslam ~ Cleared for take off ~ Photograph ~ 16×32 ~ $225 ~ Nuclear Lake Jane Haslam ~ Clinging On ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $135 ~ Mountain Laurel at Cat Rock John Foley ~ Fractured ~ Photograph ~ 12×24 ~ $125 ~ This sunset aerial of Pine Island was taken on a late winters eve. The remaining rays of the sunset gave the thawing, icy-blue, swamp water an almost fractured look throughout the landscape. John Foley ~ Lady Slipper ~ Photograph ~ 12×18 ~ $125 ~ No other plant stands out on the forest floor with as much seduction and desirability as the Pink Lady Slipper. John Foley ~ Relief ~ Photograph ~ 12×18 ~ $125 ~ Although the times were tough when I took this photograph, the flares erupting from the evening sunset, offered me an illuminated sign of inner relief that a new day will come. Julie Toscano ~ Clear Water Reflections ~ Photograph ~ 10×8 ~ $50 ~ During an early summer paddle while the water was high and clear, I was fascinated by the underwater plants and the reflections of the trees. “Julie Toscano ~ Great Swamp Rainbow ~ Photograph ~ 8×8 ~ $50 ~ After a summer storm cleared, a rainbow appeared… Justin P Goodhart ~ Forest Sunrise (Autumn) ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $147 ~ A lovely spot to watch sunrise with friend in the Michael Ciaiola Conservation Area. Autumn edition. Justin P Goodhart ~ Forest Sunrise (Winter) ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $147 ~ A lovely spot to watch sunrise with friend in the Michael Ciaiola Conservation Area. Winter edition. Justin P Goodhart ~ Portrait of a Lady ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $147 ~ I was so excited to find a large and productive patch of Lady Slipper orchids near home in Patterson. The fact that it was raining just moments before this image really helped I think, the colors being more vibrant and the rain drops hanging from the flower really add to it. Can’t wait for spring again! Justin P Goodhart ~ They Call Me Mellow Yellow ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $147 ~ Rambling through the forest along this stream and came across this little cascade with the beautiful shelf like feature at the top and this down tree that was spotted with vibrant yellow fungus. The sun was getting ready to set behind the falls and the forest above, providing some lovely soft back lighting on the autumn leaves. Karen Golden ~ Pollination ~ Photograph ~ 5×7 ~ $125 ~ I’m fascinated by the energy of a pollinator garden in the fall. Kelly Goodhart ~ Deer & Spider ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $80 ~ In order to go on this particular paddle, the wake-up call was 4am (ugh). The fog and lighting that morning was fantastic and the show made the early rise incredibly well worth it. Kelly Goodhart ~ Foggy Swamp at Sunrise ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $80 ~ This beautiful little deer came to munch on some greens in my front yard and was so content even with me standing there. I snapped a couple of photographs and was slightly horrified when upon closer examination, I realized that he/she had spider webs on and all around him/her. Poor little deer. Kristian Crandall ~ Parallel Parking ~ Photography ~ 8×12 ~ $150 ~ It’s very hard to find a good parking spot in nature. Linda Horton ~ Duck Blind ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ It was a sunny, cool spring day and the reflection was so amazing, taken while kayaking on the swamp. Linda Horton ~ Green Chimneys Boardwalk ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ The light and shadows that hit the Green Chimney’s boardwalk inspired me to take this photo from my kayak while paddling beneath it. Linda Horton ~ Paddling in the Swamp ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ Kayaking and canoeing with a group in the early Spring with beautiful clouds and the sun’s reflection in the swamp. Linda Horton ~ Swans in the Swamp ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ Clouds and sun made color reflection that looked like watercolors in the swamp. The swans were eating and circling around, it took several shots to get their profile. Linda Hubbard ~ Autumn Hunt ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $175 ~ Peaceful calm and glorious colors… Blue Heron Joy. Paul Toscano ~ New Year’s Day ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $75 ~ What is typically a cold day was warmer and foggy on New Year’s Day 2022 as we walked along the New York State Rail Trail in Holmes, NY. The effect was eerie and fascinating at the same time. Rich Carr ~ Bear from the Window ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $50 Rich Carr ~ Painted Turtle laying Eggs ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $50 Sharon Nakazato ~ Golden Ray Lake ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $x ~ A photograph can only be a reminder of the richness of colors that morning at Ray Lake. Sharon Nakazato ~ Milkweed Fledging ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $x ~ The dynamic life force of these newborns bursting out into the world was almost a great sound! Sharon Nakazato ~ The River, The Sky, The Trees ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $x ~ River, sky, trees, all these three are as much the life of the Great Swamp as the animals and are also a drama always in motion. Tom Ruscigno ~ Kayaks ~ Photograph ~ 5×7 ~ $50 ~ Taken at the Great Swamp Entrance across from Green Chimneys. Tom Ruscigno ~ Field ~ Photograph ~ 5×7 ~ $50 ~ Taken at the Great Swamp Entrance across from Green Chimneys. Tom Ruscigno ~ Swamp Grass ~ Photograph ~ 5×7 ~ $50 ~ Taken at the Great Swamp Entrance across from Green Chimneys. The views inspired me for their beauty and simplicity especially the blades of grass sitting on a log in the swamp. Tom Ruscigno ~ Swamp Reflections ~ Photograph ~ 5×7 ~ $50 – Taken at the Great Swamp Entrance across from Green Chimneys. I love reflections and thought the tree reflection with the small green plants sprouts in the water made it look like leaves on the trees.
