Alice Lynn ~ Misty Morning, East Fork of the Croton River ~ Photograph ~ 12×18 ~ $150 ~ On my early morning walk along the East Branch of the Croton River where it flows into Diverting Reservoir below the Village of Brewster, I greet our nesting swans through the rising mist. Early Spring 2023, Brewster, NY
Alice Lynn ~ Raptor, Croton River ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $75 ~ Native American culture tells us that when a Red-Shouldered Hawk visits you the bird is communicating a message to always look forward, envision your path ahead, change is coming, prepare for a greater role in life, your dreams will come true. Autumn 2020, Town of Southeast
Alice Lynn ~ Reservoir Footpath ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $175 ~ In 2014 the Diverting Reservoir Trail opened to the public thanks to the efforts of Boy Scout Troop 440 who dreamed of this beautiful trail, cleared it and maintain it to this day. I’m so grateful to the Scouts for their vision giving us all access to this peaceful haven. October 2020, Town of Southeast
Alice Lynn ~ Sunrise From the Footbridge ~ Photograph ~ 12×18 ~ $150 ~ On the foot bridge over the peaceful East Branch of the Croton River on a perfect spring morning greeting the new day. May 2023, Brewster, NY
Anya Champion ~ Stone Church ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $300 ~ The photo was made with the panorama feature. I found the picture spot when I noticed the light spots on the rock.
Astri Teal ~ Slipper in the Sun ~ Photograph ~ 4×4 ~ $130
Astri Teal ~ The Infinite Garter ~ Photograph ~5×7 ~ $150
Bella Dalton-Fenkl ~ DeKays Brown snake on the Boardwalk ~ Photograph ~ 10×8 ~ $200 ~ My first time photographing a DeKay’s! Screws in the bridge crossing Swamp River give a sense of scale, and despite how small this snake is, it is a full-grown adult. I love the heart-shaped mark on the head and the sun bringing out the red tones in its brown scales.
Bella Dalton-Fenkl ~ Fan shaped Jelly Fungus ~ Photograph ~ 10×8 ~ $200 ~ Another photo from the Swamp River boardwalk. Macro shots of fungi are often favorites of mine. I find the differences in texture between the boards and the jelly-like surface of the fungus fascinating, and the shapes of the fungus resemble hands reaching up out of the swamp below.
Bella Dalton-Fenkl ~ Green Frog ~ Photograph ~ 10×8 ~ $245 ~ This frog leaped onto the side of the trail in Clough Preserve, then waited to have its portrait snapped. I love the subtle blue highlights on its wet body as it reflects the sky above, and the way it’s pressed up against the leaf as if it’s holding a bouquet.
Bella Dalton- Fenkl ~ Slightly Musical Conehead ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $200 ~ This katydid has the swagger of a mustache-twirling cartoon villain. I also appreciated how its bright green body looks so much like the tall grass in the background. This was also taken at Swamp River.
“Carlos Passi ~ Globe Thistles in the Eyes of a Bee ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $125 ~ Bees are trichromatic, with three types of color receptors in their eyes. These photoreceptor cells are sensitive to ultraviolet (UV), blue, and green wavelengths of light. This allows bees to see a range of colors beyond what humans can perceive. They are especially sensitive to UV light, which is invisible to humans. Bees have a relatively limited color spectrum compared to humans. They are thought to be unable to distinguish between red and certain shades of orange and yellow, as these colors appear somewhat similar to them due to their limited red sensitivity. (Taplow Blue Globe Thistle – Echinops bannaticus)”
Carlos Passi ~ Honeysong at Ray Lake ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $125 ~ The Honeysong Purple Stokes Aster (Stokesia), with its resplendent violet blooms is a burst of color in the garden that evoke both tranquility and vibrancy. This perennial is a native North American wildflower with flowers that can grow to a size of up to 4 inches wide that attract bees and butterflies to its nectar. The Honeysong is a reminder that nature’s palette is as diverse as it is beautiful, and that a single flower can display grace and elegance in the great outdoors.
Carlos Passi ~ Thomas at Ray Lake ~ Photograph ~ 12×18 ~ $500 ~ Nestled amidst the pristine beauty of Ray Lake, Thomas finds his muse, his canvas, and his peace. With a palette of colors mirroring the surrounding landscape, he captures the essence of nature through his brushstrokes. As he paints plein air, he immerses himself in a world where the boundaries between artist and landscape blur, where the serene beauty of nature is translated onto canvas, and the soul finds solace in the embrace of the great outdoors.
Carlos Passi ~ Woods’more? ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $125 ~ Nature’s artistry often offers delightful surprises, and these forest-floor fungi, with their sweet resemblance to a favorite treat, serve as a gentle reminder of the enchanting wonders that can be found beneath the canopy of the woods. This time, a whimsical sight—a cluster of white mushrooms that evoke the delicious nostalgia of s’mores. (Stump Puffball – Lycoperdon pyriforme)
Claudia J Griswold ~ Peekaboo Owls ~ Photograph ~ 18×22 ~ $200 ~ I have never seen an owl that close up, no less two juveniles. They were as curious about me as I was about them. We spent a short spell together, before they flew off further into the Great Swamp In Patterson.
Claudia J Griswold ~ Eagle ~ Photograph ~ 18×22 ~ $200 ~ This mature Bald Eagle was surveying Cranberry Mountain WMA in Patterson. I hoped it would hunt and return with prey. The area is very diverse but it was amazing to see this majestic raptor perched waiting to fly off to defend its territory or hunt.
Claudia J Griswold ~ Green Heron Courting ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $125 ~ This pair of Green Herons were in very dense vegetation along the shore of Little Pond. Difficult to find a clear view, the noise spooked them. They flew unto this log and I had my shot. I will definitely be back as it is very serene.
Claudia J Griswold ~ Raging Falls ~ Photograph ~ 18×22 ~ $200 ~ “Tucker’s Run Falls” were raging after heavy rains at Great Hollow Nature Preserve. Soaked ground made an easy hike more challenging. Upon my arrival, sunlight was streaming thru the canopy, illuminating the fallen log in a “Z”, standing for “Zen” which was exactly how I was feeling.
Donna Castelluccio ~ Get Over It ~ Photograph ~ 12×24 ~ $100 ~ Photo of bridge near Ray Lake on Douglas property. Printed on canvas, branch with rope for hanging. I love to follow paths and cross bridges.
Don Turner ~ Arrowhead Flower Stalk ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $85 ~ The arrowhead flower stalks stand out spectacularly against the dark green and shadowed dense foliage in the wet areas of the marsh. The entire plant is a food source for beavers, muskrats & even porcupines. Native Americans also harvested the tubers to eat. Appalachian Trail Boardwalk, Pawling, NY.
Don Turner ~ Duck Soup ~ Photograph ~ 14×11 ~ $85 ~ To be honest I don’t recall why I took this photo. Probably some vague notion of an abstract image of sorts. But when I recently reviewed the photos from this outing, the “duck head” jumped right out at me. The current in the Swamp River formed this serendipitous image in this mass of algae soup. Hence the title: “Duck Soup” (With apologies to the Marx Brothers & Margaret Dumont). Appalachian Trail Boardwalk, Pawling, NY.
Don Turner ~ Sensitive Fern & Duckweed ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $85
Don Turner ~ Spotted Joe-Pye-Weed Bloom ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $85 ~ The subtle pink of the simple Joe-Pye-Weed buds contrasts beautifully against the green of the leaves. The buds open shortly to host a variety of butterflies, bees & other pollinators. Appalachian Trail Boardwalk, Pawling, NY.
Julie Toscano ~ Spring High Water ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $75 ~ Early May 2023: after heavy rains, the water level at the Green Chimneys launch area was so high that you couldn’t access the footbridge. Trees were fresh green. Beautiful day for a kayak trip up the river!
Justin P Goodhart ~ Dew Glint, Cat Rocks ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $147 ~ Looking down from Cat Rocks, like the sparkle of a billion diamond flecks shining through the morning mist. The newly bare trees still found a way to show off.
Justin P. Goodhart ~ Double Sunshine ~ Photograph ~ 16×20 ~ $147 ~ There’s nothing quite like autumn colors reflecting in the water with some morning fog. Sipping coffee in my kayak and watching the sunrise over the Great Swamp is one of life’s greatest joys.
Karen Golden ~ Painting Leaves II ~ Photograph ~ 11×14 ~ $100 ~ Along the Rail Trail

Linda Horton ~ Monster Log Face ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ Kayaking from Wingdale in the Great Swamp last spring this face appeared with the clouds in a tree stump in the mist!
Linda Horton ~ Great Blue Heron Condos ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ Kayaking from Wingdale in the Great Swamp in a secluded area the trees were full of heron nests a sight to behold from the water level.
Linda Horton ~ Sunning Turtle ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ While kayaking from Green Chimneys this spring in the Great Swamp this turtle was sunning itself on a log, others jumped in the water before I could snap the camera.
Linda Horton ~ Turtle on Fall Log ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $125 ~ While kayaking from Wingdale in the Great Swamp last fall this turtle posed.
Linda Hubbard ~ Autumn in the Swamp ~ Photograph ~ 16 x 20 ~ $175 ~ The sunlight on the swamp grass with the emerging autumn colors in the background… reminds us that even the mundane can be beautiful.
Linda Hubbard ~ Waiting ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $85 ~ Love the little birds in the swamp that patiently wait for dinner to come by.
Linda Hubbard ~ Like My Hair Do? ~ Photograph ~ 10×10 ~ $85 ~ This green heron at Wimisink in the evening light seems to be showing us his beautiful colors.. and his great hair do!
Linda Hubbard ~ Winter Cattails ~ Photograph ~ 16 x 20 ~ $175 ~ Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder…. even the cattails at the end of their cycle are beautiful.
Patty Richardson ~ Raven’s Nest ~ Photograph ~ 15×26 ~ $300 ~ To the indigenous people of the NorthWest Coast, the story of “Raven” brought forth life and order. The Winter Solstice is believed to be Raven’s time of greatest power. I felt honored that our local ravens selected our very own Great Swamp to build this nest!
Paul Toscano ~ Misty Morning ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $75 ~ I walk every day and this particular morning, everything was in place.
Phyllis Chadwick ~ Lakeside ~ Photograph ~ 28×36 ~ $500 ~ Lakeside Park has been a place close to my heart. There is so much beauty there. This photo manipulation combines three areas I enjoy the most when visiting. The beautiful lake with its wildlife, the crop of pines and the old barns at the top of the hill.

Susan Hennelly ~ Stone Church Brook ~ Photograph ~ 14×11 ~ $150 ~ Sunday walk with family became a spiritual experience to remember.
Vicki Andrews ~ Dawnward Dog ~ Photograph ~ 8×10 ~ $150 ~ This January morning when I was walking our dogs at the Patterson Environmental Park, the golden glow of the breaking sunrise reflecting off the water, the surrounding mist clinging to the stark trees, and the quiet stillness of the Swamp created a feeling of special sanctuary.
Victor Messick ~ A Tree’s Reflection ~ Photograph ~ 9.5×7.5 ~ $250 ~ I was at Patterson Launch in late August when I noticed this unique reflection of tree and sky in the shallows. The leafless tree’s squiggly reflection was dynamic – alive – and proof that the natural world is the original artist and sculptor. The mix of grays and blues and off-whites remind me of the brushstrokes and colors one might see on a painter’s canvas.
Victor Messick ~ From A Kayak ~ Photograph ~ 6×10 ~ $200 ~ I was struck by the uniqueness of the distant tree, then noticed the other prominent tree at left, adding balance to the scene as though reaching out to each other. The low lying vegetation and bend in the river added further context and seemed to reinforce the connection between the two trees. The reddish-orange colors of the foliage on the water’s surface both compliments and contrasts.
